The Fort Worth/Tarrant County Animal Foundation would like to personally ask you to join us this year for the
"5th Annual Veterinarian’s Memorial Golf Classic"
honoring Dr. Edwin H. Ellison
The first four events were a tremendous success in celebrating the life works of a great Veterinarian and at the same time raised much needed funds helping Texas A&M veterinary students and advancing Veterinary Medical research.
The Fort Worth/ Tarrant County Animal Foundation (FW/TCAF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to funding worthy scientific studies that benefit our companion animals, large and small, in improving their quality of life. Since its inception we have provided over $750,000.00 to help investigate and find cures for canine and feline medical diseases as well as equine diseases. This year alone in 2009 we are funding $98,000.00 for four different studies on animal diseases. As you can see, our foundation is very serious about our charge of supporting further advancements in veterinary science to help our beloved animal companions. Therefore, raising funds is a necessity to continue this noble goal. To date we have also provided over $470,000.00 in financial aid to Texas A&M Veterinary students.

This year’s event is being held on the afternoon of Monday, May 18th at the Bear Creek Golf Club located just west of the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.
We are proud to announce our lunch is again being catered by the wonderful staff from one of the finest gourmet Mexican restaurants this side of the Rio Grande, Abuelo’s Mexican Food Embassy. They will be treating us to Beef and Chicken fajitas with all the trimmings. After lunch we will enjoy a round of golf with Veterinarians, Veterinary company representatives and animal lovers of all types, followed by a fun-filled awards reception.
In the first four tournaments our generous sponsors were from many different industries including major pharmaceutical companies, national diagnostic laboratories, pet nutrition companies, local and national Veterinary clinics, major grocery corporations, insurance companies, representatives of CBS Sports, Morris Animal Foundation, and many many more. This event will again be a relaxing change of pace and a break from their practices for area professionals and their staffs, corporate representatives, and other professionals from all walks of life. There will be a strong emphasis on fun and networking while enjoying good food, and a “no-pressure” round of golf on one of the Metroplex’s finest golf courses.
Participants will enjoy not only the before-mentioned fiesta lunch, but also a tee-package bag with plenty of gifts, a fine round of golf that includes par-3 hole-in-one contests featuring luxury golf trips to destinations such as Pebble Beach, Hawaii on every par-3 and Allen Samuels Dodge-Hyundai will again sponsor one of the hole-in-ones, and there are many more contests. Then finishing the round with an award’s reception with satisfying refreshments and plenty of time for mingling.
